Thank you for visiting our website. As our name Unity suggests, we celebrate and respect diversity and honor the many spiritual paths and expressions which lead to One God. Unity of Toledo is a member church of the
Association of Unity Churches International. Unity is perhaps most widely known as the home of the worldwide prayer ministry,
Silent Unity, and publisher of the
Daily Word.
To get acquainted with Unity teachings, please read the short article, "
About Unity," on this website and visit the websites of
Unity's World Headquarters, and the
Association of Unity Churches International.
When people come together to celebrate in the experience of God, everyone is blessed. A Unity church is a special place that shows you how to bring a loving, caring God into your daily life. Unity is more a way of life than a religion. Not everyone is comfortable with our approach to Christianity because we believe that Jesus was a spiritual master and that he taught the same universal Truths taught by all the great spiritual masters. We believe that our path is to follow these universal teachings and practice them in our daily life. We explore ways to apply the universal teachings of Jesus Christ and other spiritual masters in a practical way. We seek to “know the Truth that sets us free.” We believe that Jesus and the other masters were not the exceptions, but rather the examples, and that we too can experience our spiritual mastery by following their example. Can you imagine life lived from a deep and abiding faith and understanding of your true spiritual nature? Can you imagine knowing that we are not born in sin, but in pure potentiality? Can you imagine a life lived in compassion and love? Can you imagine living the life you were meant to live?
Unity was founded in 1889 by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore with the purpose of praying for those in need of healing and to educate people about deeper spiritual truths and metaphysical meanings in scripture. This spiritual study helps us see the Bible in a new light, to see it as a story of our Journey from the darkness into the light. It is the human journey to spiritual awakening. We learn practical ways of living a spiritual life and following a spiritual path.
As a full service ministry, Unity of Toledo offers Celebration Services, Sunday School for all age children and teens, Adult Education classes and workshops, as well as pastoral care including prayer support and spiritual counseling. Our intimate Tooke Memorial Prayer Chapel, our main sanctuary and our beautiful outdoor space is also available to members and non-members for
Life Celebrations (weddings and unions, christenings and memorial or funeral services).

Unity of Toledo offers you an environment in which to explore your spirituality and celebrate the presence of God within you. We embrace all people and welcome them in dignity and love regardless of race, color, gender, age, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical disability, or sexual orientation. We believe we are all expressions of a loving God, created to bring blessings to this earthly experience. You will find us to be supportive of you as a unique creation of God, here to do a blessed work. So if you are looking for a spiritual community that loves and supports you, that affirms you without judgment and that encourages your personal theology, then you will love being in Unity. We love and bless you and behold the light of God's presence in you.
If you decide to visit our church, you will be embraced by the warmth of our congregation, and the peace and joy that abounds throughout the church. During a typical Sunday service, you will be singing, laughing, clapping, praying, meditating, enjoying and growing. Since all our services are very practical and based in universal Truth principles, when you leave our church, you will have greater inner strength and new ideas to help you resolve any personal challenges that you may have.
We welcome guests at all of our services, classes and workshops, and Tammy and I look forward to seeing you soon on a Sunday morning. Remember, Life is Meant To Be Lived! and you're always welcome at Unity of Toledo!
